It’s time to recognize members of our community...

The AVTE awards honor individuals and programs who have demonstrated excellence over the past year. They are intended to recognize the varied ways that a significant impact can be made on the veterinary technician education field.

    AVTE Teaching Excellence Award 
    Presented by VCA
    Recognized for her dynamic teaching methods, which include interactive activities and real-world scenarios, particularly in emergency medicine and Advanced Surgical Nursing. Her commitment to hands-on learning and student success truly sets her apart.

  • Angela MacFarlane, DVM - Lone Star College - Tomball
    AVTE Program Director of the Year

    "Simply a tremendous amount of work to improve the culture, curriculum, and student outcomes of the program."

  • Blinn College Veterinary Technology Program
    AVTE Program of the Year

    "Veterinary technician students perform their clinical rotations with veterinary doctor students. This collaboration lets DMV students see the thorough skill set that our students have been taught to better utilize their technicians in the future."

  • Animal Emergency Care - Bellingham, MA
    AVTE Clinical Externship Excellence Award

    "Indispensable to the education of the students of the Veterinary Technician Program at Bellingham Technical College."

  • Denise Savel - Gateway Technical College
    Margi Sirois Veterinary Technician Educator of the Year

    "She has a way of interacting with students that they feel very comfortable. She holds them to the highest standards and constantly wants them to use critical thinking. In the end, her students love her dedication to them and often sing high praises."
